Piano Play! - Ages 3-5
Introduction to Instruments & Piano Program

This introduction to piano is a creative class that stimulates a young child’s interest in piano & music
through rhythmic activities, singing, creative movement, instrument exploration and piano playing.
This 60-minute class encourages musical development through songs,  melody & rhythm patterns, poetry
and stories, movement activities,  listening games, instrumental play and games.

We'll be learning rhythm on drums, jumping the music alphabet on the floor and playing pitched instruments
such as the glockenspiel, xylophone & boomwhackers.

All our activities and games are designed to develop the coordination, rhythm and reading skills necessary
to play piano.  Home materials include CD with songs to listen & play at home.  T

The program provides a developmentally sound approach to music literacy that builds symbolic thinking,
concentration, memory and self-expression, introduces orchestral instruments and ensemble play and
focuses on building a child's aural (listening) foundation  - all first steps in reading music.

Tuition:    There are 2 semesters in the year, each 16 classes.  Tuition is $50 per month, with an additional
charge of $30 per semester for home materials.  Classes begin in September.

Classes offered Mondays at 10:00 and Thursdays at 11:15.  Additional classes will be added if needed.
Why Music?

Children who love music
for an early age are
likely to become music
enthusiasts for life.

While some may go
onto to become talented
pianists or musicians, all
will be enriched forever
because of their early
musical experience -
whether it be increased
coordination skills,
improved listening skills
or enhanced
self-confidence
.
